FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What does the entry form ask me?

There are two separate forms, one for images, one for video work. The questions on both forms are the same.

We ask 7 questions – Your name, your company or institution, your country of origin, your email address and whether you are a student. We then ask for two separate descriptions of your work, one conceptual and one technical. More details on this can be seen below:

Artwork description

Please provide the artistic concept of the work, alongside your philosophical, theoretical or aesthetic influences. Please limit your description to 300 words.

Artwork technical description

Let us know both the hardware and software you used, including anything that you coded yourself. It would be great to know full details of your process. Please limit this to 750 words.

How should I present my work?

For image submissions – please submit a primary image that best shows your work. For video submissions – please attach a link to your video work on either Vimeo or YouTube (no longer than 2 minutes). If your work is password protected, please provide the password in the section provided.

How does the judging work?

The judging of this competition will be done in two separate stages. A long list will be determined by the chairs of our the Creative Machine symposium, which includes experts, academics and artists. This will then be sent to our carefully curated judging panel, who will narrow the list down to a shortlist of about 5 per category.

Who judges the top prizes?

The top prizes will be judged by a selected panel. More information to come.
